An extract from the Rector's Report to the 2006 AGM

. . . Well, that was then
What about now
Last year I shared with you a vision and I want to remind you of it
now

For I still have a dream -
Of a vibrant parish centre, where many different styles of
worship will be provided to encourage and enable a wide range of
ages and stages of Christian journeys

Of a place that is a centre of community not one day a week, but
seven, built up in love and witness to those around us

Of a godly people who love their Lord, and who know that he loves
them, equipped to serve by a talented and committed group of
specialists

Of a community that equips people to live a vital and relevant faith,
a faith that they are eager to share with others

A community of mission, who not only say to others come, but who
are also keen to go to the wider community in worship, fellowship
and service

Of ministries gathered around encouragers and facilitators who
will encourage those around them into playgroups, support groups,
bible studies and discussions, lifeskills courses and the like, as a
witness to those communities of the power of Christ to transform
lives today

Of worship services and café churches at our main centre, in
Warnervale and at Lakes Grammar, forming and growing new and
different communities of faith and witness

Of people of all ages and stages going out to serve in our
community and in the wider church and God’s world in mission and
witness

Of a community of love and acceptance where the weak and
vulnerable stand together with all the people of God accepted and
loved
not because they’re perfect
but because they’re just like the rest of us
forgiven
and chosen
gathered in Christ
a community who celebrate His life and His presence in worship
and love
and who know what it means to belong to him

And why do I have such a dream?

Because, good people, I believe our Lord has such a dream

And, my friends
I believe our God in His love is continuing to reveal that dream to us

And to make it happen
